Steve Pruitt is a senior partner at the Watts Partners.

In a distinguished Washington career spanning over three decades, Steve has earned the reputation of being a respected and knowledgeable Congressional legislative and public policy expert. He has served in numerous positions of responsibility including as Staff Director of the Committee on the Budget of the United States House of Representatives and as a senior legislative and political advisor to Congressman William H. Gray, III (D-PA), the former Chair of the Committee on the Budget who rose through the ranks to also become the Majority Whip of the House of Representatives.

He served as an Executive Vice President for Operations of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) where his responsibilities included management of UNCF's Information Technology Services, Administrative Services, Human Resources, Government Affairs and Communications Departments.

As senior partner, Steve provides public relations and governmental advocacy for clients of the Watts Partners. He helps direct the firm's representation of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, cities and municipalities, large and small corporations, and athletic and other non-profit coalitions.

In addition to serving as senior partner to the Watts Partners, Steve is currently the President and CEO of the Pruitt Group, Ltd., a public relations and governmental advocacy consulting firm he started eight years ago specializing in trade, appropriations, information technology and grassroots lobbying activities.

Steve holds both graduate and undergraduate degrees from the Ohio State University.
